So… since I last blogged here things have changed a bit. I’ve moved to Iceland which means I am 5 hours ahead of my server time. This makes it almost impossible for me to partake in my guild’s raiding program since almost all raids start when it’s already bedtime for me. I feel kinda sad and bad about it since I was one of the guild’s few healers and had accumulated decent gear from our runs. Now I have to resort to 5man heroics and PvP.
And that’s what I’ve been doing with Ashkente. Last night I finally caved in and specced from CoH to Discipline. I’ve decided to focus on PvP for a while and gather some resilience. With Disc spec I can be more serious in Arenas (although I only have one decent team going on at the moment) and play a more offensive games in the battlegrounds. Mana burning and mass dispelling like a mo-fo!
I love running the BGs on Ash. It’s amazing how much damage I can withstand while healing my teammates and doing a bit of damage. Last night I managed to solo a rogue after he sapped me and cut my back in half! What a personal victory for me! lol! :P
With me withdrawing from the raiding program I’ve taken up interest again in some of my old toons. I’ve started playing my mage, Stibbons again, focusing on easier PvE content like the dailies and 5mans. I might do some PvP with him soon but I do kinda suck at playing a mage in PvP at the moment.
Ysabell, my pally, has come a long way since last time. She’s now level 62 and Protection specced. I’ve been tanking Ramparts and Blood Furnace with level appropriet groups and almost enjoy it as much as healing. It’s a nice change to sit on the other end and be the one getting heals instead of giving them.
Rognor, my hunter, is still on the bench. I just don’t like the hunter class gameplay for some reason. WotLK seems to have some cool changes to the class so I might do something with Rognor when the expansion hits.
Lastly, I finally got my wife to try the game. She rolled a NE druid and is currently at level 28. First I rolled a warrior to play with her but got bored, then I tried a shammy and got her to 25 and got bored. Then I tried a druid… but now I am going for the rogue. His name is Pteppic and is currently at level 25. Killing with the rogue is crazy fun and leveling seems to be REALLY fast.
I had a really interesting night. I’ve been in dire need of badges and couldn’t get a group for the daily heroic. So I decided to go and do the dailies that have a chance of giving you badges. I was questing away in Hellfire when some random guy whispered me with: “Hey we’re doing Doom Lord Kazzak in 45 minutes if you are interested.” Hell yeah I was and decided to join them. There were a few Dignitas members in the raid as well but it was mostly a PUG group with members scattered across guilds. It didn’t go well! It started by some kid pulling aggro on to us too soon and then leaving the raid. The next pull was a premature one as well and wiped us. I decided to leave after that but got a good video and got to see the encounter first hand. Fun stuff.
Then two lowbies in the guild asked for help in Lakeshire where the Horde was killing all the quest NPCs and the Flight Path NPC. A few of us went there hoping for a good world PvP and we got it. After we cleared Lakeshire we followed them scumbag Hordies to Goldshire were we killed them again. After that another lowbie alt in the guild reported many Horde in Astraanar in Ashenvale. We quickly responded and defended the town.
Then it was time for revenge! Naturally we picked Crossroads. We gathered 10 guildies and headed over to Ratchet. We proceeded to Crossroads and killed everyone and everything in there. We held the place for more than 40 minutes killing the Flight Master repeatedly and the odd level 70 who tried sneaking up on us. Eventually we were swarmed with level 70 Hordies and got brutally killed.
It was sooo much fun and we got quite a few Honorable Kills there. Haven’t had this much fun in the game for a while.
Not much going on at the battlefield lately. Been leveling Ysabell slowly. She is now level 35. One more level and I am going to spec her prot for the hell of it.
Ashkente finally got his 100th badge last night. Now I only need 50 more to get what my guildies call The Pinecone Mace. Also been doing some battlegrounds with him. I soloed a warrior in WSG. Felt good when I finally braught him down. I outhealed his damage and slowly killed him with dots, smites and PW: Death. A small personal victory. :)
Oh yeah… and we got Gruul down to 3% the other night.
Reposting this. I asked my paladin friend Kurimuri to join me and do a little stunt at the Blood Elf are at the Black Temple. More than 40 Blood Elves were pulled during this video. Good times! :D
Woot! Ashkente bought himself Belt of the Long Road tonight with some saved and some borrowed gold. This means that the whole Primal Mooncloth set has been replaced. I feel so happy about that. Now I just need to work on replacing that Whitemend set. If only I’d get some good head piece to drop I could either use the Pontifex Kilt og the Pantaloons that are sitting in my bank.
In other news Ashkente reached revered with the Netherwing today. Slowly but steadily on his way to the Netherdrake mount.
